Before you arrive
Confirm university admission

Show proof of funds

Apply for student housing

After you arrive
Get your B student permit
REQUIRED~2 weeksCHF 100–200Register at the Gemeinde within 14 days. Bring admission letter, proof of funds, housing contract, insurance.
Understand work rights
RECOMMENDED~15 minFreeEU students can work up to 15h/week during semester. Non-EU students must wait 6 months and are limited to 15h/week.
Get health insurance (or exemption)
REQUIRED~1 hourCHF 100–300/moEU students with EHIC card may apply for exemption. Otherwise, mandatory KVG within 3 months.
